Landscaping Fleet FAQ

What landscaping contractors ask us before the first order.

Which trucks work best for landscaping crews?

Crew-cab pickups carry the crew and tow the trailer, which is why an F-150 SuperCrew or a Super Duty is the usual answer. Where you are hauling material rather than towing it, stake beds and dump bodies on a Super Duty chassis are the better spec.

What upfits do landscaping fleets order?

Landscape racks and side bars, spray-in bed liners, trailer hitches and towing packages, and fleet wraps. If you are running a dump body or stake bed, that is specified against the chassis before the order so the GVWR and wheelbase are right for the load.

Can you spec a dump body or stake bed?

Yes. Both are standard configurations through our upfit partners on Super Duty chassis. The important part is matching the body to the chassis before ordering — payload, wheelbase and axle rating all change with the body you put on it.

Do I need a special licence for the trucks you spec?

That depends on the GVWR of the finished vehicle, which is one reason we spec the body and chassis together. Tell us who is driving and we will keep the build inside the licence class you want to stay in.

How many vehicles do I need for fleet pricing?

A Ford FIN code generally requires five or more vehicle purchases a year or a fleet of fifteen. It is free, usually active in about three days, and we handle the application with you — see the FIN code guide.
